Yvonne Loretta Jensen, age 82, returned home to be with her sweetheart Roger on Sunday, August 9th ,2020.

She was born in Oak Creek Colorado on August 20, 1937 to Henry and Dorothy Korfanta.  She moved to Sunnyside, UT as a young girl with her parents and 2 brothers.  She graduated from Carbon High School in 1955 and went on to attend Carbon College.

Yvonne met her lifelong sweetheart and they were married on September 26, 1959.  She and Roger tried for 8 years to have children and was unable to conceive so they adopted 2 children Lisa and Michael.  She took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Every birthday and holiday she mailed out cards in colored envelopes so the kids knew who it was from with money in it.  The children, grandchildren and great grandchildren waited so anxiously every birthday and holiday for that card to come in the mail with their individual names on it knowing it was from Grandma and Grandpa Jensen.

Yvonne managed Horse Canyon Employees Credit Union for years and retired from there only to become the Executive Director at Carbon Medical Clinic.  Anyone that knew her knew that the clinic was her passion.  She did all of the federal grant writing and kept the clinic afloat even in the roughest times.  She was named in the Utah Business Magazine in September 2000 as one of the top 25 women in healthcare where the article read “Named executive director in 1992 Yvonne has been the driving force behind the centers success.  Her job description is doing whatever it takes to keep the place going and she loves it” Yvonne said “I’m old enough to retire, but I never will”.  She worked at the clinic until she retired at 75 years old only because physically, she couldn’t do it anymore.

After retirement she stayed home with Roger and found her new normal.  She was a die-hard Utah Jazz fan and watched every game.  At the end of every quarter she wrote down the score in a notebook so she could look back and compare to the prior games.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Lisa Petersen (Zach Harris), Clinton; Son, Michael Jensen, Sunnyside; granddaughter Michele Parry (Brady Parry), North Ogden; grandson, Dylan Petersen, Clinton; great grandchildren, Keelii, Aidyn, Harper and Cru; brothers, Charles (Dixie) Korfanta, James (Sue) Korfanta and Russell (Sherry) Jensen.

Preceded in death by her husband, Roger Jensen and parents, Henry and Dorothy Korfanta.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carbon Medical, East Carbon Ambulance, The amazing Staff at Rocky Mountain Care Clearfield and Rocky Mountain Care Hospice Davis/Weber.
