The Emery Spartan soccer squad faced the Grand County Red Devils on Tuesday in Moab. The Spartans came out and scored two goals in the first half and added another in the second half and taking the victory 3-2.

The Spartans are sitting at 2-5 overall but 1-0 in region play. With losses on their schedule against Union, North Sanpete, Juab, Parowan and Millard, and victories over Gunnison Valley and now Grand. The Spartans will enter the conference section of their schedule. We will also be getting a look at the initial RPI rankings on Thursday September 3, which will show where Emery will be ranked against all schools in 3A.

Up next for the Spartans will be a road contest with South Sevier on September 3. The next home match will be Tuesday September 8 when they will welcome San Juan to Castle Dale. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.
