The Emery Spartan tennis team welcomed the Richfield Wildcats to Castle Dale on Tuesday afternoon. Richfield would dominate in all matches winning the meeting 5-0.

Emery has only played in three matches this season and the match with Richfield was the final home match of the year.

Emery struggled in this match against the Wildcats. Senior Morgan Hughes suffered a straight set loss in her singles match. Senior Carlie Bennett was defeated as well 3-6, 0-6. Junior Paige Cox lost the other singles match 0-6, 0-6.

On the doubles side, the team of seniors Haley Guymon and Shaylee Grange lost in straight sets 0-6 and 4-6. and the second doubles team of seniors Megan Hess and Aspen Taylor lost 1-6 and 4-6.

The Spartans will head back to the courts on September 8 when they will travel to Gunnison to face the Bulldogs. They will then face Carbon at the tennis courts in Price on September 17.
