The Carbon Dino volleyball squad took on the Grand County Red Devils on Thursday in Moab. The Red Devils claimed victory in four sets 3-1.

Carbon hadn’t taken to the floor for a week coming off the victory over Emery last Thursday 3-0. Grand had just come off of a straight set win over Monticello on Tuesday the 8.

Grand jumped out taking the first set 25-21, the Dinos would come back however taking the second set 25-20. The final two sets were very competitive but Grand would claim victory in them 25-22 and 26-24.

For the Dinos Emma Christensen finished the day with 21 digs and 11 kills. Katie Jones added 26 digs as Lyndee Mower collected 8 kills and Makenna Blanc finished with 27 assists.

Carbon now sits at 9-3 overall and 2-2 in region 12 play. The recently released RPI poll by the Utah High School Activities Association has them ranked No. 4 in 3A. These rankings are updated daily and will be used for seeding in the State Tournament.

Up next for the Dinos, they will be home on Tuesday the 15 for a match-up with South Sevier.
