The Emery Spartans took to the soccer field on Thursday afternoon to face off with the Richfield Wildcats. Emery scored it’s only goal in the first half but that was all it needed as they completed the shutout and took the victory 1-0.

Richfield sitting at No. 10 in the RPI and fresh off the 2-1 defeat of Carbon on Tuesday welcomed Emery to town. The Spartans entered the game 3-5 overall and 2-0 in region play.

The lone goal in the contest came off of the foot of Alexis Winter in the first half with the assist from Nya Parkins. Holding the Wildcats scoreless throughout the match the Spartans now stand atop the Region 12 standings as the only undefeated team.

Up next for the Spartans is a date with the Carbon Dinos on Tuesday September 15 in Price. They will be home again on the 22 when they face the South Sevier Rams.

Game time on the 15 in Price is set for 4 pm.
