Richard J Bettencourt, age 64 passed away September 10, 2020 at his home.

Richard was born April 25, 1956 in Orlando, Florida to Joseph and Margie Bettencourt.

He traveled and moved around a lot as a child because his father was in the Airforce. Eventually they settled in California where he lived until moving to Carbon County, Utah in 1978 to work in the coal mines where he put in 25+ years. Richard enjoyed the outdoors the most and enjoyed fishing, camping, mountain biking, and boating in Lake Powell. He will be remembered by many for his sense of humor.

Richard is survived by his three children; Karah (Matt) Marasco, Katie (Steve) Childs, and Travis (Chelsea) Bettencourt. He also had four grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Brynley, Anthony and Kanon; sisters, Cindy (Tony) Lynn and Lori Shipley of California; step dad, Bill (Nancy) Shipley also of California and many extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and will be reunited with his mom who he missed very much.

Per Richards wishes no public services will be held.
