PRICE — The Helper Rams lost to the Mont Harmon Pirates 48–6 on Wednesday on the road.

The Pirates came out swinging on the first drive of the game with a long touchdown pass to go up 8–0.

After the Mont Harmon score, the Rams responded with a long drive of their own led by the ground game of Sai Merrell, Taytin Davis, and Stetson Poulson.

Davis found the endzone for Helper from two yards out to cut the Mont Harmon lead to 8–6.

In the second quarter, the Pirates scored again to push their lead to 14–6.

The Rams wouldn’t quit and built another drive on the ground and entered Mont Harmon territory before being forced to switch quarterbacks.

“We did a good job in the first and second quarter, unfortunately when we were forced to make a quarterback change, our lack of experience and football savvy showed,” said Helper Head Coach Curtis Condie.

Mont Harmon would stop the drive after the change and then build their lead to 35–6 at halftime.

In the second half, Mont Harmon forced a turnover for a score and added a couple of touchdowns through the air and on the ground to put the Rams away.

“Congratulations to Mont Harmon players and coaches, they were by far the better team today,” said Condie. “We hope we can compete with them next time we play them.”

The Rams will move on to their next opponent the Canyon View Cougars next Wednesday at home. They lost to the Cougars on the road September 2 by a score of 36–14.

According to Coach Condie, the Rams will have to get back to work at practice this week and focus on the little things as they prepare for Canyon View.

“We preach the little things and work on those little things so they don’t become big things,” said Condie. “I am proud of our guys but its just going to take time.”

Kick off for Wednesdays game at Rex Berry field is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
