The Carbon and Emery tennis squads met for the first and only time in the regular season on Thursday. Both teams are getting close to the end of the season with the 3A State Tournament taking place the first week of October at Liberty Park. This meeting would have Carbon come away with the win 4-1.

Lindsey Snow picked up where she left off this season taking the #1 singles match against Morgan Hughes 6-1,6-1. In fact all the singles match fell to Carbon with Lizzy Blackburn defeating Carlie Bennett 6-0, 6-0 and Nicole Swasey claimed victory over Paige Cox 7-5 and 6-0.

For Emery the lone win came in the #1 doubles match when Haley Guymon and Shaylee Grange beat Alex Cartwright and Kaydance Scovill 2-6, 6-1 and 6-1. In the other doubles match the Carbon team of Ana Marie Olivas and Alyssa Ellis defeated Morgan Hess and Aspen Taylor 6-2, 3-6 and 6-0.

Next up for Carbon will be the Regional Tournament in Richfield on September 25.

Emery will travel to Wasatch Academy on the Tuesday the 22 before regionals.
