Coming off a victory last Thursday at home against San Juan, Emery was looking to take some momentum in to the last matches of the season when they faced the Grand County Red Devils on Tuesday. And even though they put up a fight in the first and third, the Spartans would fall in straight sets.

Emery came out in the first set ready to battle and they pushed Grand to the limit, falling 25-23. In the second set the Red Devils came out swinging defeating the Spartans 25-14. Emery would regroup a bit in the third set but Grand proved to be too much and took it 25-22.

In this match Hallie Winn and Bralin Wilde stood out for the Spartans with five kills each. Wilde had six digs and Winn registered 12 assists.

Grand is sitting at 11-4 overall and 4-2 on the season putting them at second place. They also hold the No. 7 spot in the state RPI.

Emery has a 6-7 overall record with a 2-4 region record and is sitting at No.12 in the RPI.

The next three games could be very telling for the Spartans. On Thursday the 24th they travel to Monroe to take on the South Sevier Rams who hold a 4-12 record and sit at No. 15 in the RPI. On Tuesday the 29th they will be on the road in Vernal to take on Uintah, with an 11-3 record and they hold the No.1 RPI spot in 4A.

They will return home on Thursday October 1st to face the Carbon Dinos. The match is set to begin at 6:30
