The Price Boys & Girls Club is gearing up to open their doors at their new location on October 5. Parents have been busily signing up their students for the program over the last few weeks. Program Director, Jessica Haro stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about the organization.

“So we’re at our new location now. Since the building closed down, we had a lot of youth that reached out and said, hey when are you going to be coming back? We miss you. So we’ve reminded the youth and the kids like, club is not where the building is, club is where the youth are. So that’s what it’s about,” said Haro. Officials have been preparing the new location and getting it set up for the students to return.

The new location is on 60 East 100 North in the old Rocky Mountain Home Care building, across the street from Sodalicious. “It’s more accessible and it’s much newer than our previous building, so it’s going to be a good change,” said Haro. The move would not have been possible without the support from the community. Last week members of the USU-Eastern SUN Center, Megan Marshall and LDS Singles Ward all assisted in getting stuff moved from storage units to the inside of the new building.

The organization offers homework assistance and other fun activities for all students afterschool. “So STEM is a big thing, we like to do art. We do music with the teens. We have some staff that are actually musically talented, so they’ve taught them how to play the guitar, ukulele – we have a sound system. So we want to be able to open up as many avenues as possible for them to learn new skills that they can take into the real world,” stated Haro. The organization is always looking for educational activities for students to participate in. The club members are for ages 5 to 18 years old and they offer a low annual membership fee of just $20.00.
