The United Way of Eastern Utah is now accepting Angel Tree applications for its annual Christmas assistance program. Director, Kaylee Iman sat down with Castle Country Radio to share all the details of the application process.

“So the Angel Tree Program helps the lower-income families that aren’t able to get gifts for their kids, even if it’s just like simple clothes, books and stuff like that. So they come in fill out an application and then we get the information to our sponsors and we get those gifts for those families,” said Iman. Last year’s program serviced 430 children in Carbon and Emery counties, as well as assisted 45 disabled adults with Christmas too.

The application process is quite easy as Iman explains, “So it’s not too hard it’s just the application. The application kind of walks you through itself. You do need a copy of your pay stubs, if you get benefits from the Department of Workforce Services like food stamps, you’ll need a benefits report from that, and then just a copy of your driver’s license.” The completed applications must be returned by appointment only to the United Way office which is opened Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. All applications must be submitted no later than the deadline of November 19.

The application can be found by visiting the United Way of Eastern Utah’s website at https://www.uweu.org/ or by calling the office at (435) 637-8911.
