The Lady Dino Volleyball team opened post-season play on Saturday afternoon facing the Manti Templars in Price. Carbon made quick work of the Templars defeating them in three sets to advance in the 3A State Championship Tournament.

The Templars came into Saturday as the No. 15 seed in the RPI. This was the second match of the day for Manti, they faced the Summit Academy Bears earlier in their first contest, the winner of the match would move on to face Carbon. Manti defeated the Bears in four sets 25-15, 22-25, 27-25 and 25-12.

Carbon had not faced Manti this season, in fact you have to go clear back to 2017 to find the last time they played each other. Carbon took that match during a mid-season tournament 2-1.

Carbon came out and showed their dominance early and would take the match in three sets 25-20, 25-11 and 25-16.

The Dinos will now move their focus to Juab, a team they have faced this season, twice. Carbon claimed victory in both matches, on August 18th, they would take the win in four sets 25-18, 27-25, 18-25 and 25-23. And then just eleven days later on the 29th at the Dixie Fly High Tournament they would face off again and Carbon took that contest as well in three sets 25-20, 25-19 and 27-26.

Carbon will now get a change of venue as the remainder of the tournament will move to the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. The Lady Dinos will face the Juab Wasps on October 27th at 1 p.m.
