regalia

The Friends Board for Carbon and Emery Children’s Justice Center is excited to be hosting the Christmas Tree Regalia this year but in a COVID-19 compliant way. This year’s event will take place along Price City’s Main Street where the trees will be located throughout various businesses. Coordinator, Connie Hamilton took time to talk to listeners about the annual event.

“The Friends Board for Carbon and Emery Children’s Justice Center is sponsoring this once again. In the past, we’ve have had it out at the Special Events Center but this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are abiding by all health and safety precautions and we’re going to be doing it on Main Street downtown in Price,” said Hamilton. There will be several activities scheduled to take place throughout the event on November 13, 20 and 27. A map of the trees and the various activities can be found at the Christmas Shoppe and Grako’s Tire Pros. Grako’s will also be where guests can find the Grinch Christmas tree.

The Friday Night Strolls will kick-off on November 13 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, then again on November 20 and 27. Most businesses and restaurants will be open during this time for guests to visit.  The Price Youth Council will have a Christmas Tree set up in the Peace Garden for children to place their ornament on. “We would like all of the kids that would like to participate, have their parents stop by the Utility Office in Price, pick up a little baggie and it contains instructions on how to make an ornament that will be placed on the tree. Then the night of the 13th at 5:00 pm they will come to the Peace Gardens and put the ornament on the tree, then they’ll have a tree lighting ceremony,” stated Hamilton. This is open to all children while supplies last. Also taking place this same evening at Banasky Insurance parking lot will be a routine by the Mont Harmon Cheerleaders, followed by a performance by the Carbon High School Choir.

On Friday, November 20 the Encore Dance Company will be performing at the Peace Garden, followed by a parade from 300 East and Main to 100 West that will feature both the Grinch and Santa Clause making their way down Main Street.

This year’s bidding on the Christmas trees will be done on the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Carbon & Emery Counties Facebook page. “The fun part is, you’re going to bid on the trees, that’s going to be online. That’s our COVID-free way of bidding this year. So you will go online it’s on Facebook, if you don’t have Facebook account, you probably know someone that does. You’ll go to the Facebook account, pick out the tree that you want, and you’ll place your bid there and the highest bid will take the tree on the 27th,” said Hamilton. The auction will begin on November 13 running through till 8:00 pm on November 27.

There will be a Christmas Shoppe set up in the business on the corner of Main and Carbon Ave. This will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning November 13 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. “We are going to have our Christmas Shoppe that’s going to be open that day and the Christmas Shoppe is chock-full of great gift-giving ideas and home décor so you want to stop there,” said Hamilton. Guests will be required to wear masks throughout the event as they enter the various shops and businesses.

The purpose of the Christmas Tree Regalia is to assist with operational costs and building improvements for the Family Support and Children’s Justice Center in Carbon and Emery Counties.
