Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Donald Jay Jacobson, 78, passed away November 19, 2020 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.

He was born April 4, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald Edward Jacobson and Vivian Marlor. Jay and Sally eloped to Nevada and were married on December 22, 1964. They remained devotedly by each other’s side from that point on. If there was ever a true love story, it would be told about Jay and Sally.

Jay enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He spent time, while his health allowed, hunting with his brothers, son Shane, and his grandsons throughout the years. Camping and time with family were two of his greatest enjoyments in life. Jay enjoyed and was entertained by most sports, and could often be found watching golf, bowling, and Sunday football games. He was the Food Network’s biggest fan. Jay was a longtime resident of Spring Glen who touched the lives of many. He was employed and later became a supervisor for the Utah State Department of Transportation; Price, Utah Division.

Jay was truly a gentle giant. A man a few words. Those lucky enough to know him were always met with love, kindness, and sincerity. Jay truly enjoyed being surrounded by family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids.

Jay is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Jacobson, Spring Glen; daughter, Michelle (Robert) Sidwell, Taylorsville; daughter-in-law, Wende (Chance) Rasmussen, Helper; three brothers, John Jacobson, Santa Clara, UT, Gary (Janice) Jacobson, Spanish Fork, David (Celia) Jacobson, Lehi; three brothers-in-law, Jim (Kathy) Gadd, Provo, Bud Nielson, Pleasant Grove, Nick Carter, Vernal; nine grandchildren, Derek (Dani) Gale, Tyler Gale, Conner (Shana) Jacobson, Shey (Liz) Hamilton, Jace (Shannon) Hamilton, Garrick (Nicki) Sidwell, Dallyn (Jessica) Sidwell, Kaden (Madeline) Sidwell and Cailee Sidwell; 11 great-grandchildren, Kasher, Kasper, Aiden, Xander, Kelton, Lexxi, Kiara, Alisha, Karalynn, Aleeha and Sadie.
