The Emery Lady Spartans continued to roll as they blasted through the San Juan Broncos 71-41, to move to 4-0 in Region 12 play, Thursday evening at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.

Firing on all cylinders out of the gate, Emery opened a 26-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. While the next three quarters were played at a more equal pace, the early advantage was more than enough to give the Lady Spartans a comfortable victory.

Tambrie Tuttle led all scores as she posted a game-high 20 points, while shooting 57-percent from the field in the process. Addie Lester also reached double-figures as she finished with 10 points on four makes in five tries.

Emery continued to shoot lights out from the three-point line as they finished 50-percent for the game, knocking down 12 in 24 attempts. A total of eight players ended with at least one make from deep.

Thursday’s win gives Emery sole possession of first place in Region 12. With wins over Carbon, Richfield, Grand and San Juan, South Sevier is the only team the Lady Spartans have yet to face in the division.

Emery will now take the remainder of the weekend off before returning to the court on Tuesday to face South Sevier. The Rams have accumulated a record of 10-2 overall and 3-1 in Region 12 play. Their lone blemish came against the Carbon Lady Dinos.

Tuesday’s highly anticipated matchup will take place in Monroe. The next home game will follow on Thursday in the second and final meeting with the Richfield Wildcats.
