Music, Meals & Mingle events are coming back starting on April 15. Castle Country Radio took time to sit down with United Way of Eastern Utah’s Director, Megan Cummings to talk about all the details.

“Part of my work with United Way I get to be on the Promotions Committee for Price City and help plan this event, which is really fun, and it brings the community together and we’re going to have a great time April 15, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Some businesses will be open on Main Street and so you can do some late shopping. We’ll have some music, Pique is the band, do that music and that’ll be fun to listen to,” explained Cummings. There will be a kid’s activities scheduled to take place at the Banasky Insurance parking lot at the corner of Carbon Avenue and Main Street. There may be some businesses that will offer some great deals inside their stores.

The United Way of Eastern Utah’s scholarship deadline is quickly approaching. “Seniors from four schools, Carbon, Emery, Pinnacle and Green River they can apply for the scholarship. Head on to the website https://www.uweu.org/ and there is a tab for the High School Senior Scholarship Application. So we’ve got a couple of great applicants, I’m looking for a couple more. We want to help you with your first year of college,” said Cummings. The application deadline is on Monday, April 12. All scholarship applications must be turned in on or before that date.

The organization is looking to get feedback from the community as to what they would like to see United Way of Eastern Utah offer community members. “I want to know, I’ve been in this position a little over two months and we got a great board, so supportive, this community is awesome. United Way of Eastern Utah spans seven counties so Daggett, Duchesne, all the way down to San Juan. I want to know what folks in our service area, so those seven counties, how do they view United Way of Eastern Utah, what do they see our role as being, how can we fill in some gaps,” explained Cummings. This feedback can do with services they would like to see, events that they would like to take place and/or just information on how they see United Way working for the benefit of the community.
