The Utah High School Activities Association recognized student-athletes across the state for excelling on and off the field for the spring sports season this week. Eight Spartans were acknowledged in six sports.

The Emery boys baseball squad had three players make the list out of 11 that were honored. Casen Miller, Luke Stilson and Kove Johansen were recognized. This is Stilson’s third honor this year making the list for football in the fall and basketball for the winter season.

Boys and girls track both had one student-athlete from Emery on the lists, both of them two-time honorees this year. Cannon Sharp and Haley Guymon both received nods for track and field. Sharp made the list earlier this year for football and Guymon was named to all-state tennis.

Another two-time recipient, Arilyn Allred was part of the 10 member group for softball. She was also awarded for her achievements on the field for soccer last fall.

Wade Huggard received his nod for efforts on soccer field, this was his second of the academic year, he was given recognition in the fall for golf.

Macie Nielsen rounds out the list of Emery honorees making the list for golf.

The Utah High School Activities Association in conjunction with the Deseret News present the Academic-All State award each year to students on the basis of their athletic ability and academic proficiency.
