With the spring season coming to an end and as schools prepare for State Championship tournaments, the Utah High School Activities Association handed out Academic All-State awards to student athletes that succeed on the field as well as the classroom. The Carbon High Dinos  had five students that were recognized in three different sports.

Erin Stromness, SayDee Johnson and Ryan Lee of the track and field team received all-state recognition. This is the second time this year that Stromness (cross country) and Johnson (soccer) made the list for the Dinos.

Katie Jones was one of ten student-athletes rewarded for softball, making it her second award this year she also received the honor for volleyball in the fall.

For the boys,  Merrick Morgan made the list for soccer, and it was his second of the year as well. Morgan received the nod for basketball for the winter season just this past February.

The Utah High School Activities Association in conjunction with the Deseret News present the Academic-All State award each year to students on the basis of their athletic ability and academic proficiency.
