Abram Hyrum Petersen, age 34, passed away May 10, 2021.

He was born on November 12, 1986 to Marlow and Vicki Petersen in Huntington, Utah. He attended Huntington Elementary, Canyon View Junior High and Emery High. Abe married Jessica Campbell and they have three beautiful children: Myleigh, Raider and Knightyn. They later divorced.

Abe enjoyed being a coal miner and was currently employed at Gentry Mountain Mining. He was a hard worker. He worked for Nielson Construction, A&I Flooring, Stowell Flooring, Consol Mine, Rhino Mine and the Deer Creek Mine for several years.

Abe had a great love of the outdoors. He grew up in the mountains and loved to spend time hiking, hunting and fishing. He loved riding motorcycles. His favorite times were hunting with his siblings where he would act as the guide to find them the biggest animal possible and then get really annoyed when they shot the wrong animal.

Abe loved to make people laugh and he had a ready smile.

Abe was a devoted son. After the death of his father Marlow, Abe stepped up and helped out his mother constantly. He would come and fill her furnace with coal every day and check on her to make sure she was okay.  Abe had a big heart and was a compassionate person. He had a great love for people. He had many friends that he liked to spend time with on the mountain.

Abe was an avid shed horn hunter. He found many beautiful sets of antlers over the years. Abe’s greatest joy in life was his three children. He was always playing with them and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved taking them to the family campout each year where they spent time together in the great outdoors. Abe recently started golfing. He said he wasn’t very good, but he sure enjoyed it.

Abe enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and loved the family trips down by Emery where his dad showed the family the best locations for arrowheads. He loved to give the kids piggy back rides and his children adored him and his fun personality. Abe loved keeping the fire going on all camping and hunting trips.

Abe was always lending a helping hand to his family, friends and neighbors. If you had a project going, Abe was there to help out. Abe enjoyed cutting up all the wild game he shot and making jerky. Abe had a great love for his brothers and sisters and enjoyed spending time with them.
