It’s time for another Price City update and Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Mayor Michael Kourianos who spoke about road construction and water usage.

There are many road construction projects taking place around town at 700 East, Fourth Avenue and 300 East. “So the road construction you know we have 300 East, 700 East, and Fourth Avenue that is under construction. As I talked to the construction manager last week, he told me that 300 East, here comes the bad news, its about two more months of construction on that particular project they have ran into a lot of problems,” said Mayor Kourianos. This is the project located by the college that has been worked on many times in the past and they hope to get things repaired this time around.

Both the 700 East and Fourth Avenue projects are moving along just fine and should be done fairly soon.  “Fourth Avenue will be done even sooner, probably this month, in a couple weeks we’re looking at having that Fourth Avenue done. I know those citizens on that street will be very happy. I don’t know if anybody saw but on Fourth Avenue, there was an old vault there, it was huge. I don’t know how Nielson’s got that out but it was amazing,” said Mayor Kourianos. Overall, the timeline for each project is looking at two more months for 300 East, a month on 700 East, and a couple of weeks for Fourth Avenue. Once these projects are completed, residents will have new roads to travel on.

The city is looking at ways to conserve water so they have developed a committee to help with water conservation. “We’ve put together a committee where we’re talking about water. We have some of our big water users, we have the college, we have the school district and we meet and we’re talking about water. How can we be better stewards, how do we maintain our lawns, what are our priorities in sections that we want to make sure look good because we have to sell our community as we have tournaments and different things during the summertime. As people come into this community, we want to make sure those areas look nice,” stated Mayor Kourianos. The committee is looking at various ways to conserve water and they appreciate the efforts put in by citizens thus far who are being conscientious when it comes to water usage.
