The Pinnacle Panthers will play host to a set of summer basketball camps for youth in grades three through 12 this July at the school’s gym.

Led by boy’s basketball coach Ray Jones and girl’s coach Mark Stuckenschneider, the summer camps will offer youth four days of instruction at minimal cost. Each day will feature a minimum of two hours worth of instruction.

“We want to eliminate every obstacle possible for the kids who are interested,” said Jones. “One thing successful programs do is start team building early. Even though we have two other high schools, we want to develop the talent we have early between all the schools in the area.”

The first session will be for kids in grades third, fourth and fifth. This camp will run July 12 through the 15 and will be offered at two separate times: 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., or 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.. The cost for each kid is $5.00 and is limited to the first 100 registered.

The second session will be geared towards middle school kids in grades six, seven and eight. This camp will also run July 12-15 and feature three hour sessions from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.. The cost of this camp is $10.00 per participate and is limited to the first 50 registered.

The third camp is geared towards high school kids ages freshman to senior. The start date will be July 19 and run through July 22. There will be two separate sessions: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., or 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.. The cost is $25.00 per player.

“We would really like to see this summer camp as an annual event,” said Stuckenschneider. “We want it to be a regular thing for the kids who want to play basketball in the summer time, while offering them some coaching and techniques.”

Each camper will receive a t-shirt, water bottle and bag. Those interested in signing up or learning more on the camps can contact Jones by email at or Stuckenschneider at
