The Price Boys and Girls Club have started their summer programs and are excited to have such a great turn out thus far. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Director, Molli Mystrom to talk about the club.

Although school just got out for the summer the Price Boys and Girls Club is preparing items needed for school supplies for next year.  “Well, what we have, we had someone donate a ton of backpacks last year, so we still have some of those available. What we want to do is fill them with notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, glue, markers, anything the kids are going to need to go into the school year. So we are looking for donations for people to bring in any of these items, the more the merrier, but the more we can get the better we can have these kids prepared for our school year,” explained Mystrom. All donations can be dropped off at the Price Boys and Girls Club located at 60 East 100 North. They are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The summer program is underway and there are several activities that the students can enjoy at the Price Boys and Girls Club. “Right now, we’re looking at doing a swimming program so hopefully once a week or once every two weeks we’re going to be able to go over to the wave pool and have some fun there. Our teen program we’re going to do a night sky camping trip, and that will be really cool up in Joe’s Valley. We just have daily activities, arts and crafts, STEM projects. We’re going to try to keep the kid’s minds motivated as much as possible and keep them ready for school,” stated Mystrom. Great thing about these activities is the students are learning while having fun.

The Price Boys and Girls Club will be participating in the Price City International Days celebration. “On International Days we have of course the Kids Parade and the Kids Day which is going to be great for our Juniors Program. We are also going to be doing all of the concessions for the movie nights on Friday and Saturday night. Then we’re also doing the wave pool from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday and there will be some games, and activities, and some free giveaways. Then we have the car show on Saturday that we are also doing concession for and of course we will be in the parade,” said Mystrom. The organization is looking forward to being a part of this year’s city celebration.
