Carbon cross country is making their way through the 2021 season. Coming off a dominant performance at the Juab Invitational last week, last Friday they made their way to Murray Park for the Spartan Invitational. Both squads had a good day as the boys ended in 9th place out of 15 teams and the girls grabbed the 8th spot out of 14 teams.

Desert Hills finished in the top position on the boys side followed by Woods Cross, Bountiful, Stansbury and Copper Hills completed the top five.

Kobe Cruz was the top runner for Carbon finishing in third place overall with a time of 16:15.59. Sam Hansen of Woods Cross finished in 1st with a time of 15:51.44 and Carson Wall took second crossing the finish with a time of 16:09.78. Easton Humes finished in 52nd and Pierce Bryner in 66th out of 133 runners. Garrett Black, Nathan Engar, Sean Stromness, Jason Tatton, Bradley Sweeny Russell Seeley also competed for the Dinos.

On the ladies side, it was Copper Hills that grabbed the top spot followed by Stansbury, Ridgeline, Bountiful and Desert Hills that made up the top five.

Beverly Lancaster was the top finisher for Carbon turning in a time of 20:36.56. Ambree Jones ended the day in the 30th spot and Sophie Taylor 43rd out of over 100 racers.  Allison Munck of Wasatch finished in first with a time of 19:42.03. Abigail Case of Mountain Crest and Kailani Zufelt of Desert Hills rounded out the top three. Ada Bradford, Ellie Hanson, Mariah George and Lindsie Fausett all finished the course for the Dinos.

Up next will be a pre-state race at Rose Park on Wednesday.
