Coming off a disappointing double header loss on Friday against Wayne, the Pinnacle Panthers were back on the field to take on the Telos Titans at Carlson-Colosimo field on Tuesday. The Panthers jumped out to a quick lead in the first and used their defense to close out the Titans in five innings, 13-2.

The game on Tuesday avenged the 10-4 loss suffered in the first game of the season for the Panthers.

Coming out in the first, Pinnacle’s Todd McFarland collected four RBIs with an inside the park home run to left, that brought home McGuire Kocks, Delbert Lain and Michael Schmitz, putting four runs on the board.

In the second Kocks would score again off of an error at first base and then later in the inning, Schmitz would cross the plate on a passed ball pushing the score to 6-0.

The third and fourth innings were more of the same for Pinnacle, adding seven more runs while giving up just two to Telos. The Panthers kept their momentum throughout and closed out the Titans in five.

Offensively for Pinnalce, Kocks had the stat line of the day with three hits, four runs scored and one RBI. Lain and Schmitz both had one run and added a couple of RBIs a piece, and McFarland had the home run and four RBIs.

Schmitz was on the mound for the Panthers, getting the win giving up three hits two runs (one earned) and striking out nine in the win.

Pinnacle is sitting at 4-15 on the season and holds the No. 13 spot in the RPI. Up next is a road game with Diamond Ranch Academy.

The Panthers will be home on Friday to face the No.1 team in 1A, Piute. The first pitch will be thrown at 3 p.m..
