The Southeastern Utah Health Department is excited to host Officer Jermaine Galloway, founder of The Tall Cop Says Stop. He will be making an appearance here in the Carbon County area on Monday, October 18 for parents/community members and Tuesday, October 19 for Emergency/Law Enforcement Personnel and School Administration/Educators.  Both events will take place inside the Carbon County Event Center and guests must be over the age of 18 years old in order to attend.

“I attended several years ago and Jermaine he has an extensive background with drug and alcohol prevention for youth and he was an officer in Idaho for 18 years. Prior to that he was a Division I basketball player so he has a special interest with youth and young people in communities. He’s really about awareness and the drug culture continues to change,” said Utah Highway Patrol Captain, Steve Salas. The National Presenter, Galloway has trained more than 300,000 people nationwide and internationally. Both training sessions will focus on local/current Utah statewide drug trends and local information.

The first presentation is a parent/community night that will take place at 7:00 pm till 8:30 pm. This presentation explains how to identify/recognize every day items and how they hide the current drug and alcohol trends.

The second presentation is a workshop type setting that will begin at 8:00 am till 2:00 pm and is entitled “High in Plain Sight.” Captain Salas explains who the training is geared for, “Obviously, we want all of our first responders, law enforcement, fire, EMS. Anyone from our schools that’s available, whether it’s a teacher, a coach, an administrator, even any of your aides, anyone from detention, the university, anyone that has an interest in our youth in society I think should attend.” Topics include stash compartments, concealment methods, over the counter drugs, herbal drugs, drugs available on-line, marijuana concentrated and much more. Light refreshments and lunch will be included.

Individuals who wish to attend one or both of the sessions are strongly advised to register on eventbrite.com. This will give event organizers an idea of how many folks will be in attendance at each session.
