Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with this year’s Miss Carbon County, Peyton Anderson and her First Attendant, Eminie Elliot. Both girls were recently crowned last month and will represent the community at various functions throughout the area.

Anderson is new to pageants as the Miss Carbon County event was her first pageant ever. She took time to explain her platform, “My platform is Look Before You Leave. As a young child I was backed over by a car and it took a huge toll on me and it basically was I restarted from the beginning. Not everyone knows that this is a big thing here in Utah that happens all the time and I just want to let everyone know how concerning this is. I still have problems to this day and I’m 20 years old and that happened forever ago. So I want to let people know that the problem that it has on a child if they live or they don’t.” She is looking forward to speaking about her platform over the course of her reign.

Elliot, First Attendant also has a platform that is near and dear to her as well. “My platform is called Keep the Beat, Move those Feet and its for heart, health and fitness. Because as a young child I suffered from Kawasaki’s which is a rare heart disease.  Not very many people know about heart diseases they only know about more common stuff so I decided to get that out there. If you move your feet and stay active then you’re more likely to live a longer life,” stated Elliot. She hopes that by talking about heart disease it will motivate folks to become more active with it comes to their heart health.
