The Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center has been selected by Castle Country Radio as October’s Charity of the Month. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down and speak with new Director, Nikki Jeffs about the center’s services and an upcoming open house.
Jeffs has been a part of the Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center as a volunteer and was recently named the new director. “Coincidently, I was just finishing up my Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and Learning Science, and so a lot of the things that I was learning in the Master’s Degree has a lot to do with the things they were needing in a director. So I just really have a heart for what we do there and so I really wanted to take the opportunity to help build them up,” stated Jeffs. She is eager to put her administration skills to work and is looking forward to having the opportunity to meet members of the community.
“First of all, we are a non-profit Christian organization so everything is biblical based but we want anybody and everybody to be able to come in a tap in to our resources they are all free. We have everything from an educational standpoint which includes parenting classes, life skills, different life coaching kind of things. We also have free pregnancy tests that are like home pregnancy tests that women can get if they like,” said Jeffs. They also offer material assistance to new parents who due to financial hardship may be having a hard time purchasing the basic necessities for their baby. This is done by participants attending classes to earn Baby Bucks to purchase items from the center’s in-house store.
The center will be hosting an Open House on November 6 for the entire community to come meet the new director and learn about the center’s services. “That is going to be Saturday, November 6 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Our center is located at 836 East 100 North in Price, its just across the street from the new county building,” explained Jeffs. This is a great opportunity for members of the community to meet the facilitators and learn about the services at Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center.
