The HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery, and Grand Counties is hosting an International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day event on Saturday, November 20 at 12:00 pm. Suicide Prevention Specialist, Amanda McIntosh took time to speak over the telephone at Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.
“We are getting together on Saturday, November 20 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. We’re meeting at the Crosscut Brewery upstairs. They’re going to lend us the upstairs area, it’s a nice little secluded spot where we’ll be able to watch that AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) sponsored movie on remembrance and loss and grief. It’s free of charge it’s for anybody that would like to come and be a part of our survivor family,” stated McIntosh. The Crosscut Brewery is located at 150 Hospital Drive and attendees will be able to enjoy a light luncheon while enjoying the presentation.
International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an event in which survivors of suicide loss come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experience. Non-Loss Survivors may also register to attend.
Registration is required for the event so that organizers can get a headcount for the luncheon. “It’s simple to register, you can go through the HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery, and Grand Counties Facebook page, through our events there, you can register, again it is free, or you can go to https://isosld.afsp.org/price-utah/ and you can register that way,” said McIntosh.
