Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, John A. Perla, Jr. passed away surrounded by his family on January 16, 2022.

He was born February 12, 1952 in Price, Utah to John Perla, Sr. and Margaret Martin.

Married Patricia Lunelli on November 19, 1971 in Helper, Utah. John grew up in Carbonville and was a hard worker who enjoyed doing carpentry work.  He liked to fish and hunt and he loved helping anyone at any time.  He was a prankster who loved all his family very much.  While working John worked on the oil rigs, did road construction, worked at Swisher Coal and Trail Mountain.  He later moved to Colorado to work at West Elk Coal and retired from there.  He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by his loving wife, Patricia Perla; daughters, Misty (George) Zamantakis, Michelle (James) Edwards; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Margaret (Roger) Skaggs, Gladys Perla, Jim (Diane) Perla, Joe (Beverly) Perla; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rose Tidwell.

Funeral Mass, Friday, January 21, 2022, 10:00 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Vigil service, Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church where the family will receive friends Thursday and Friday one hour prior to service.  Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
