Castle Country Radio had the opportunity to speak with USU Eastern Director of Student Services, Kevin Hurst about what is taking place at the campus right now. He was able to speak about the university’s COVID protocols, scholarships and commencement.
Many folks have noticed that COVID numbers are rising again and so the university is making sure that they are taking COVID safety precautions to protect themselves. “Things are going great, we’re keeping a close eye on COVID and COVID cases, but so far, so good. Our students have been wonderful following the COVID protocols and guidelines, masking up when needed, washing hands, staying home when they’re sick. We’re still optimistic even though there’s a little bit of a rise in cases,” explained Hurst. The university works closely with the health department when tracking COVID numbers.
Although the Spring Semester has just begun and students are busily working on their studies some of those students are preparing for Fall Semester of next year by applying for scholarships. “So our scholarship window is open for the upcoming Fall Semester, I know that feels like a ways off but you can get in and apply for scholarships, you can apply for admissions for Fall or Summer and that’s readily available. On February 11 we have our USU Eastern Preview Day, and so if you’re wanting to come up to campus and check things out, please come join us on February 11,” said Hurst. This event is open to anyone that is interested in continuing their education. This is a perfect opportunity for potential students to learn more about the options available at USU Eastern.
Commencement ceremony has been scheduled as Hurst explains, “We’re super excited, if feels like it’s a way off but it’s going to be here pretty soon, it will come quick. Our commencement date for USU Eastern is Saturday, April 30.” Any students who plan on participating in commencement exercises are urged to complete an Application for Graduation with the Admission’s office by February 28
