With the RPI removed until Feb.21 for 1A schools, the speculation will begin where teams will land and who their first round opponents will be when the playoffs start next Saturday, February 26.

The RPI is a mathematical equation that ranks teams by the strength of their schedule and is based on three different parameters: the teams winning percentage , their opponents winning percentage and their opponents opponents winning percentage.  The equation gives each team a percentage and then those numbers are used to rank each team throughout the season. With the playoffs coming up in February teams can get an idea as to whom they may be playing when the time comes.

Panguitch sat atop the last update, with Piute, Manila, Bryce Valley and Diamond Ranch Academy making up the top five. For most of the last month, those schools have remained in the top spots.

Green River lands in the No. 22 spot. Coming off a win over Pinnacle at home last week, the Pirates have one more game left this season, a home match-up with No.9 Monticello on Friday.

Pinnacle ended the season with two losses, one to Green River and another loss to Whitehorse on the road Tuesday evening.  At 7-11 the Panthers hold the No.19 spot in the last available RPI rankings.

The playoffs will begin on February 26, with the first round taking place at home sites.

Beginning with the second round, all games will take place at the Sevier Valley Center on the Richfield campus of Snow College.
