Event organizers have been busy planning over the winter months for some summer fun at Helper Saturday Vibes. Now all of their hard work and planning is going to pay off as the first Helper Saturday Vibes of the summer is kicking off on Saturday, May 14. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Allie Farnham and Rachel Barbee to discuss all the details.

“We’re the second and fourth Saturday this year so we did create a little more consistency with our schedule, just so you can really get it into your brain, second, fourth Saturday, May through September, that’s ten events through the season,” explained Farnham. All the events and activities will start at 5:00 pm at the Main Street Park, and along the city’s historic Main Street.

There will be live entertainment at the Main Street Park Stage beginning at 5:00 pm. “We’re going to have Lash Larue opening on the stage. They’re a super fun, high energy band, they play a little bit of everything. They take the stage from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, so they are a two-hour set and then we have a nice hour intermission in the middle, with Swagger taking the stage to close it down, they are awesome,” stated Farnham. Guests are urged to bring lawn chairs to sit near the stage, plus there are bleachers available for seating as well.

Folks don’t need to worry about dinner because there will be several food trucks on site. “We have five food trucks, we’re sold out on our food trucks for our first event, which is so exciting. We’ve got a local favorite Rubens BBQ, we’ve got El Sarten, they were here with us last year. We also have the famous Jana Kay, and excited to have Dee’s Kitchen which is going to be tacos, as well as, the Green Chili House,” stated Barbee. All of the food trucks will be set up near the Main Street Park so folks can enjoy some grub during the live entertainment.

There will be a beer garden available for folks that are 21 years old or older.  “Of course, we’ll have our fabulous bar back again this year. Everyone loves a top-shelf margarita, it may be a little bit chillier than 80 degrees this week and so we are going to bring a specialty cocktail to every event. The specialty cocktail this week is called a Bourbon Daisy. All drinks are just $6.00, margaritas are $8.00, beers are $5.00,” said Farnham.
