Emery High School senior Ryker Jensen, junior Gannon Ward, and sophomore Wade Stilson have been named to the All-Region 12 Team for their performances in the 2022 regular season.

Jensen, one of six seniors on this year’s team, posted a .409 batting average to go along with 25 RBIs and two doubles. On the pitcher’s mound Jensen ended with a 3.09 ERA, making several relief appearances throughout the season.

“Ryker kept his eye on the ball all season long when in the batter’s box and in the field,” said manager Rob Smith. “I wish him the best on his future endeavors. He was a big part of our program for four years and I will miss him.”

Ward led the team in RBIs with 31 and home runs with two. Playing center field and hitting in the middle of the order, Ward also hit .500 for the season and stole a team best 14 bases. In the outfield he accumulated a 0.973 fielding percentage. He will represent Emery in the Underclassmen All-Star Game Saturday afternoon at Juan Diego.

“Gannon hit the ball very well and led us in RBIs this season,” said Smith. “I’m looking forward to seeing him on the field next year, knowing that he will be a leader for us.”

Stilson is one of many underclassmen to perform at a high level for the Spartans in 2022. Batting second in the order, Stilson led the team with a .533 batting average and swiped five bags throughout the season. A key instrument for the Spartans in the field, Stilson played both shortstop and second base.

“Wade is an all-around athlete who contributes wherever we needed him,” said Smith. “He was a great offensive threat in the number two spot

The Spartans finished the Region 12 portion of the schedule with a 6-6 record, placing them third in the stacked division.

The All-Region teams are voted on by the coaches who represent the division.
