The Miss Carbon County pageant is quickly approaching on August 13 so there will be an informational meeting held on Monday, June 13 at 6:30 pm at Mont Harmon Middle School for any young women ages 17 to 24 years who would like to participate in the pageant this year. Pageant Coordinators, Kylie Howes and MeriLynn Tubbs took time to come into Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.

“So the Miss Carbon County Organization is a scholarship and service based pageant program. We exist to provide personal and professional opportunities for the young women to promote their voices, and also their talent in their community. Our organization may focus on service, and scholarships, being a role model, morals, and values, goal setting and becoming your best self,” stated Howes. The Miss Carbon County pageant is open to young women ages 17 to 24 years of age, and the Miss Teen Carbon County is open to young women ages 13 to 17 years of age. Miss Teen and Miss Carbon County hold the title for one year, attend and perform at community events and promote a personal platform of service.

There will be an informational meeting held for Miss Teen Carbon County on Monday, June 13 at 5:00 pm at Mont Harmon Middle School. “This is a informational meeting its non-committal, so you don’t have to commit you can come get all the information you need. We talk about the organization, and the phases of competition, and you get to meet the committee, and the title holders. If they’re wanting to do the pageant, they can bring their paperwork, that’s done online anyway but they can do that if they want,” said Tubbs. The meeting for Miss Carbon County contestants will follow at 6:30 pm on the same day and same location. All contestants must be a resident of Carbon County and have lived here at least the past two months and plan on living here for the next year.

There will be an orientation meeting on Wednesday, July 6 at 5:00 pm at Mont Harmon Middle School for Mini, Little, Junior contestants, which are for ages 4 -12. The pageant for this age group is schedule to take place on August 12. All paperwork is due at this time for the younger contestants.
