The town of Cleveland is gearing up for another fun year of Cleveland Days on Thursday, July 21 through Saturday, July 23 and everyone in the Castle Country area is invited to attend. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Event Representative, Brydi Sharp to discuss all of the details.

The celebration kicks off on Thursday, July 21 with a free hot dog dinner and entertainment at 6:00 pm. The only thing officials ask is that you please bring a side dish to share and the dinner will take place at O’Ville Pioneer Park. “We do ask that people bring a little side dish – salads, desserts, chips, beans, really whatever. We’ll have the drinks, hot dogs, the buns and all the fixins there. While we’re down there we’re going to have live entertainment by Route 10. So bring your lawn chairs, they’ll be set up underneath a garage port right there, just come and listen for a couple of hours,” stated Sharp. Once the outdoor concert is done, folks can migrate over to the Main Street City Park at 9:00 pm to watch a movie in the park. There will be concessions available and sold by the Youth Council until 10:30 pm.

On Friday, July 22 is all about the kids and there are so many fun activities planned for the afternoon. “To start off on Friday, Kids Day has become a great hit as well. We have kids ages 1 to 12, it’s $2.00 to get in, you get pizza, a drink, there is all kinds of games, all kinds of prizes, and we have easily over 200 kids there and it is just a blast,” stated Sharp. There is a new event taking place at 2:00 pm, it’s a 2 vs. 2 Sand Volleyball Tournament and officials hope that this new event is appealing towards the teens. Then at 6:00 pm there will be the Potluck Lamb Fry and live entertainment at the Main Street Park. The cost is $6.00 per plate or $25.00 per immediate family with pot luck dish, there will be a slight increase in price if you do not bring a pot luck dish to share.

On Saturday, July 23 is the big day that is full of family friendly events.  “I mean Saturday, July 23 in Cleveland is the best day of the year and we just love it. The 5K in the morning, we always get a lot of people out for that. We’re going to do a traditional breakfast this year again in the park. The flag raising ceremony, we’ve got a lot of stuff planned for that, it’s going to be amazing. The kids and grand parade, the car show was a big hit last year, we’re so excited for that. The poker ride, big hit, horseshoe tourney big hit – everything is a big hit in Cleveland Days,” explained Sharp. The night will close out with a huge firework display at dusk.
