The monthly gathering called Helper’s First Friday is set to take place on August 5 at 5:00 pm on the city’s historic Main Street. The theme has been set and this month’s theme is “Rock the Block” which will be just that. Castle Country Radio sat down with Event Organizer, George Waldren to discuss all the details.

“We call this “Rock the Block” and basically along Main Street during the First Friday we have several local acts who will be playing 30-minute sets along Main Street. It will go along well with the art galleries usually everything is focused on the artists and the galleries which are great but this gives a chance for local musicians,” stated Waldren. Attendees are welcome to stroll the street while enjoying incredible vocals, strumming guitars, banjos, bass, and even some rhythms on the keys.

Not only will musicians be featured along Main Street but they will gather in the Main Street Park at 8:00 pm for an impromptu concert. “From 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm we’ll have people along Main Street at various places and then at 8:00 pm we’re going to have a community jam session in the Helper Main Street Park so anyone can come along and remember that anything can be an instrument, so it should be a good time,” said Waldren. If you like what you hear, please consider tipping these hometown musicians as they are generously donating their time to make this event possible.
