Castle Country Radio is naming USARA as their August Charity of the Month. Recovery Center Manager, Mersades Morgan was invited to Castle Country Radio to talk about the services that the USARA offers.

“USARA is the local non-profit recovery center that we have for Carbon and Emery County. We provide a huge variety of services from one-on-one recovery coaching to we currently have nine support groups throughout the week for all pathways to recovery, and then we do lots of family friendly events throughout the month,” stated Morgan. This organization is run by individuals who themselves are in recovery of some sort so that makes it so they are relatable with their members.

The one-on-one recovery coaching service is very unique for each individual. “So we offer, like I mentioned, one-on-one recovery coaching, where we are able to sit down with an individual and map out what their recovery capital looks like, what the barriers they are facing is, any obstacles that they are trying to overcome, do some goal setting with them. Really just get to a place where they have the best likelihood of sustaining long term recovery and that is super individualized, per person it looks completely different,” explained Morgan.

Not only does USARA offer one-on-one recovery coaching but they offer something for the entire family.  “We actually have our family support group as well which is for the individuals of the loved one that may be struggles with substance use disorder, we do offer that. We offer our monthly family fun nights. We just did a family fun night in July and it was so much fun. We had a big barbeque, we played water balloon dodgeball, and it was the best time,” stated Morgan. The gathering was a great way to spend with family and law enforcement officials also stopped by to participate.

USARA has a great community support system and that is why the organization has been so successful. “We have very good support when it comes to our local court systems, our local probation, Four Corners, and we really try to just bridge those gaps to make sure that everybody is getting at least one person that they feel connected to. That no matter what their situation is they feel that they have someone in their corner and that’s really what we’re trying to provide as recovery coaches,” said Morgan.
