Madi Orth got the Lady Dinos back on track Wednesday when they welcomed Grand to Price. Coming off a hard fought loss to Manti the match before, Orth used her 15 kills and 8 digs to elevate Carbon to the 3-0 victory.

Carbon is preparing for the final month of the season now holding a 10-4 record overall and 2-0 in region play, the Dinos sit in the No. 3 spot in the RPI. Recently, Carbon coach Teresa Mower was a guest on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports and she talked about the Lady Dinos spot in the state rankings.

“I’m fine at this point in the game being third in the RPI. Last year we carried the No.1 spot almost through the whole season, and I just feel like it put a little more pressure on the girls for the entire season then I liked them to, so we stopped playing relaxed and loose, so I’m great with three going into our region play.”

In the match with Grand, Carbon came out firing on all cylinders Earning the straight set victory 25-10, 25-20 and 25-15.

Contributing to the win along with Orth, Dani Jensen added 12 digs and Jacie Jensen added to the win with 20 assists, nine digs and four service aces.

Up next for the Lady Dinos is a trip to Castle Dale to face the Emery Spartans on Thursday. Everyone knows the kind of environment that the Dinos will be walking into, and Mower said it’s not lost on them.

“It is quite a feeling, it’s quite, it’s an emotional game for both teams. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and it’s good for the girls.  Great Experience for them to have that loud energy and play in that atmosphere.”

The contest with Emery will take place at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale. Game time is set for 6:30.
