Lenard Lamond Williams, AKA Lumpy, 89, our loving husband, father, and grandfather was called home to join his Heavenly parents and his earthly parents, as well as his two sisters and two brothers on September 25, 2022 after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Lamond was born on August 26, 1933 in Spring Canyon, Utah to Lenard S. and Elizabeth Jones Williams.  He was the third child and the first son for this family and he was spoiled terribly by his two older sisters.  He was especially close to Donna who died when she was 18 and he was just 13 years old.  How very much he missed her.

Lamond was a very hard worker, often holding two jobs to support his family.  He was a meatcutter at Safeway for 26 years and owned and operated City Sanitation for 26 years – some of those years overlapping.  He served on the Price City Council for 16 years.  As a young man, Lamond was drafted into the army during the Korean War and served his much-loved country in Germany.

In 1999, he and his beloved wife served in the Atlanta, Georgia mission, then served for 17 years as temple workers in the Manti Temple.  He held many callings from Primary to the High Council and loved them all.

He loved his family, his cabin in Scofield, his trucks, popcorn, playing softball and hunting with his cousins and sons, as well as making his yard beautiful.  He spent many hours sitting on his “hill” enjoying his yard and garden.

Lamond is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jaselene Lear Jowell (married June 10, 1955); five children, Gary (Carol) Williams, Mesa, AZ, Jeff Williams, St. George, RaKay (Claye) Dance, Queen Creek, AZ, Wade (Peggy) Williams, Price, Stacie (Boyd) Lake, Leander, TX; 25 grandchildren, 46½ great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  Lamond is also survived by four sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers; daughter-in-law, Debby Williams; as well as two nephews and five brothers-in-law.

Lamond spent his life in service in the community as well as his family, neighborhood and church.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a sure testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ.  This is the legacy he leaves for his family and friends.

Funeral service, Friday, September 30, 2022, 11:00 a.m., Price Eighth Ward Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the church Thursday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment, Price City Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Lamond online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
