Calling all witches, ghosts, and goblins to the annual Family Support and Children’s Justice Center’s Trunk or Treat and Spook Alley event on Monday, October 31 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Director, Shelley Wright to get all the spooky details.

This gathering is a fun atmosphere for families to enjoy the Halloween holiday. “So its not just you go to a trunk you get treats, some of the trunk or treat cars actually have fun games and kids get to win prizes so it’s kind of a little party,” said Wright. Kids can walk around the Family Support and Children’s Justice Center parking lot safely and enjoy an afternoon outing before heading out to the neighborhoods for the evening.

Right now, the Family Support and Children’s Justice Center are looking for vehicles to set up in their parking lot for the trunk or treat event. “They can just call the center at (435) 636-3739 and ask for any one of our staff and they can say we would like to be interested in participating in the Trunk or Treat. We just ask that you be at the center by 1:00 pm that day and be ready to display your trunk probably by 1:30 pm, because we usually have people showing up early, and bring plenty of candy,” explained Wright. There is no cost to participate in the event it is all for fun and for the children in the Castle Country area.

Last year parking was an issue as many families parked along Fairgrounds Road, and it caused for some traffic/pedestrian problems on the main road. “It kind of became a little dangerous, a lot of people park alongside the road and we were asking people to park at the Active Re-Entry parking lot. There’s a place for families to walk from the parking lot over to the center, you don’t even have to go on the road. A lot of people just didn’t see that we were doing that,” said Wright. So guests are urged to use the Active Re-Entry parking lot when they come to the Family Support and Children’s Justice Center Trunk or Treat event.
