Camdon Larsen of the Emery boys cross country team ran his way to a top five finish at the Sanpete Classic Invitational on Wednesday in Fairview. Jack Chriatiansen’s sixth place finish and Merritt Meccariello’s tenth was enough to give the Spartans a team win on the boys side while the girls finished their day in sixth overall.

Paul Squire of Union grabbed the top spot in a time of 16:32.9. Curran Madden of Juan Diego landed in second. Tezra Fisk of North Sanpete, Patrick Reily of Juan Diego and Larsen rounded out the top five.

Following Emery in the team standings was Union, Carbon, Juan Diego and Manti.

Larsen, Christiansen and Meccariello were the top three finishers for Emery . Dillan Larsen (24) and Mason Stewart (32) made up the rest of the Spartans scoring.

On the ladies side it was Rozlyn Stowe of Carbon who finished in the top spot with a time of 18:32.8. Jaylie Jenkins of Union, Oi Ling Stevens of Juan Diego and Cadence and Ainsleigh Kasprick of Grand, made up the rest of the top five.

Carbon landed the first place on the team side followed by, Grand, Manti, Union and Juan Diego. Emery finished in sixth.

Addie Hurst in ninth was the top finisher for the Lady Spartans followed by Carlie Hurst (23), Kallee Cook (31) Rileigh Meccariello (42) and Kallee Lake (49), made up the scoring for Emery.

The Spartans will travel to Manti on October 10 for their next meet.

After that only two will remain, the Region 12 Championships on October 19 at the Carbon Country Club and the State Meet that will take place at the Regional Athletic Conference in Salt Lake on October 25.
