The Utah Election Preliminary Results are in from voting conducted on Tuesday, November 8 with many voters visiting the polling location as early as 7:00 am. Officials state that the stream of voters for the day was steady up to the closing of polls at 8:00 pm.

Republican Christine F. Watkins ran unopposed and took the votes for State House 67 seat.

The seat for Carbon County Clerk/Auditor was also unopposed with Republican Seth Marsing taking all the votes.

Carbon County Commission race put Republican Larry G Jensen on top with 56.44 percent, followed by Democratic hopeful, Ed Chavez with 33.70 percent and Independent American, Lita Riley with 9.86 percent.

Carbon County Commission/Surveyor seat shows the top percentage of votes as 58.55 for Republican Tony Martines, his challengers Libertarian Fuzzy Nance had 32.55 percent and Write-In candidate, Paul Riddle brought in 8.90 percent.

Republican Christian B Bryner ran unopposed for Carbon County Attorney seat.

Carbon County Sheriff’s seat will go to the current Sheriff Jeffery L Wood who brought in 52.52 percent, followed by Unaffiliated challenger Zachary Palacios with 47.48 percent.

Local School Board 4 was unopposed and will go to Wayne E Woodward and Local School Board 5 was also unopposed going to Nicole Hobbs.

Emery County had a few unopposed races, Country Attorney Michael D Olsen will keep his position, as well as Clerk/Auditor Brenda Tuttle and Commissioner A Jordan Leanoard.

Commissioner B race shows Republican Keven Andrew Jensen with 97.32 percent of votes with Write-In candidate Doug Stilson with 2.86 percent.

The Sheriff’s race has Republican Tyson R Huntington with 49.16 percent of the votes, followed by Write-In candidate Johnathan “Bow” Michey with 26.01 percent., with Write-In Shaun Bell with 19.69 percent, and Write-In candidate Keaton Cowley with 5.15 percent.

Emery County School Board District #4 ran unopposed with James Winn. Emery County School Board District #5 went to Royd F Hatt with 58.64 percent and challenger Katie Player bringing in 41.36 percent of the votes.

The Carbon and Emery County Clerk’s office must have the official count of votes completed by November 22.
