The local Soroptimist International of Price group is excited to be hosting its 49th Annual Charity Benefit on Friday, November 18 at 7:00 pm at the Carbon Country Club. This annual affair is open to anyone over the age of 21 years old as there will be adult beverages served during the event.

Soroptimist is an international organization that helps to better the lives of women and children. “This is the longest-running event I think in Carbon County it’s a continual event with the exception of the COVID year skip, we have not missed a year and it’s well known in the community. Our focus is on improving the lives of women and girls through education and economic empowerment and what that means locally for us is that we focus on programs that help women and girls. We do a grant and we do three to four grants every year to women who are going back to school and our head of household, and they’re trying to improve the lives of themselves and their family through education,” stated Soroptimist Member, Terry Willis. Other projects that the Soroptimist group has helped with in the past have been the East Carbon Clinic and Eastern Utah Women’s Health Clinic.

The funds earned from the Annual Charity Benefit help the Soroptimist International of Price with their charitable donations. A four-course dinner will be served from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a donation of $60.00 per person, and there is a surcharge with a credit card purchase. “What we have on the menu is salmon and short ribs, citrus rice, vegetable, salad, roll, and dessert. Then included with your ticket is the complimentary wine tasting, which is always fun. We will also have appetizers. The bar will be open for anyone who does not choose to drink wine. We are suggesting cocktail attire this year, it’s not required, if you’re not dressed in cocktail attire, we’re not going to turn you away. But we decided it would be fun to have or mix it up a little bit,” said Soroptimist Member, Linda Ballard. There will also be a silent auction conducted during the event so guests can place a bid. Your ticket will get you into the door prize drawing for a chance to win a Scott Yelonek print. There will be an opportunity to purchase additional tickets during the event.
