The Carbon swim team was back on the road Wednesday as they traveled to Manti to face eight other high schools from across the state. The Lady Dinos would claim another first place finish and the boys would take third.

Behind Carbon on the girls side was Millard. Emery, host team Manti and North Sanpete rounded out the top five.

Alyssa Chamberalin once again would grab two first place finishes in the 50 and 100 yard free. In the 50 she turned in a time of 27. 18, just ahead of second place finisher Aubrey Guymon of Emery and her time of 27.97, the 100 would see her finish just seconds ahead of Guymon 1:00.56 to 1:01.05. Carbon’s Mia Crompton earned the top spot in the 200 individual medley , with a time of 2:46.17, just over five seconds faster than team mate Evie Halk in second. Lady Dino Ada Bradford turned in the fastest time in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:13.16, Halk would end the race in third.

Other top individual performances for the Lady Dinos included Bradford’s second place finish in the 200 yard free, and Lindsie Fausett and Ellie Hanson, who finished second and third in the 500 yard free.

Relays were once again good to the Dinos as the team of Crompton, Chamberlain, Hadley Bower and Jennacie Jeffery finished the 400 yard free in a time of 4:25.52, six seconds faster than Millard High School. It was a second place finish in the 200 yard free for the team of Crompton, Bower, Kanyon Christensen and Ember Lyman. In the 200 medley the team of  Bradford, Lyman, Christensen and Chamberlain swam to a second place finish.

On the boys side of the pool Emery grabbed the top spot in the team competition. Millard grabbed second with Carbon finishing in third. Manti and North Summit made up the rest of the top five.

Gabe Ibanez claimed the only top finish for the boys turning in a time of 1:59.39 in the 200 free.  Nathan Engar claimed a second place finish in the 200 free and also a third place time in the 500 free.  Leland Kepsel earned a third place finish in the 100 yard breast stroke and Logan Kranendonk also claimed third in the 100 fly.

In relays the Carbon team of Ibanez, Boyd Bradford, Cameron Jones and Jackson Thayn finished in second in the 200 free, in the 400 free Engar, Kepsel, Kranendonk and Ibanez grabbed another second place finish and it was a third place in the 200 medley for the team of Bradford, Engar, Kepsel and Ibanez.
