The Spartans swim teams traveled to Cedar City over the weekend to face schools from around the state and across classifications at the Cedar Invitational. With over 13 teams on the boys side and 14 on the girls this was the largest meet that they had taken part in this season. At the end of the two-day event the boys landed in the ninth spot and the girls ended the weekend in eighth.

For the girls it was Pleasant Grove claiming the top spot with 501 points. Host Cedar City was second and Crimson Cliffs landed in third. Tooele and Stansbury rounded out the top five with the Lady Spartans ending in eighth with 131 points.

For the Lady Spartans Melody Lake claimed a first place finish with a time of 1:15.84 in the 100 yard breast stroke. Aubrey Guymon also earned a top five finish ending the 100 yard fly in 1:07.53 which was good enough for fourth place.

In relays, in the 200 yard free relay the ladies team of Guymon, Lake, Sydney Carter and Purity Mason finished in fourth with a time 1:55.95. And the in 200 medley relay Guymon, Carter, Lake and Aspen Jensen turned in a time of 2:10.07.

On the boys side it was Parker Jensen with the only individual top ten finish earning an eighth place in the 100 yard breast stroke turning in a time of 1:15.57.

The Emery boys took three top ten finishes in relays as Jensen and his team mates Bryant Durrant, Tyler Frandsen and Will Stilson finished the 400 free with a 10th place time of 4:00.42. Durrant, Jacob Fauver, Alex Fredrick and Kade Larsen earned an eighth place finish in the 200 free relay with their time of 1:44.08 and a ninth place in the 200 medley finishing in 2:01.41.

The Spartans will be back home competing on November 22, when they will welcome Carbon, Grand and Gunnison.
