MIDVALE, Utah (November 17, 2022) – The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) Board of Trustees met and passed a first consideration of classifications and determined original tied or bubble schools for 2023-25.  The initial placement of schools into classifications can be found in an attachment on the UHSAA website HERE.

The Board of Trustees will meet on Thursday, December 8, 2022, to determine the final consideration of classifications and place schools into a first consideration for regions.  A public hearing will be held virtually on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in an attempt to get feedback from the various districts, schools and communities on the placement of schools into regions.  Details will be announced later.  Activities-only members will be added in the next consideration of the alignment in December.

The assignment of schools into regions will be established on December 15, 2022, by the Board of Trustees, allowing time for schools and regions to organize and schedule for the two-year alignment period.  The first contests under the new alignment will take place the fall of 2023.  At that time the enrollment data upon which the alignment is based will be less than one year old.  The UHSAA Board of Trustees retains the responsibility for alignment of all member schools.

The UHSAA will have no further comment at this time on the alignment of schools.
