Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center (CCPRC) is an organization committed to providing a safe place for those in need of information and support during pregnancy and beyond. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Center Representative, Monica Lambert to learn more about their services.

“What we do is we have free pregnancy tests, and then we do options counseling, where we discuss all of your options. It’s a safe environment for you to come talk to us and we are also, everything that takes place at the center, stays at the center. We have programs like a prenatal program, from first trimester to delivery, to bringing baby home, we have parenting classes. We have a new program right now that’s called Pregnancy Loss that we just started that we feel like will fill a good need here in our communities,” said Lambert. All the services are free such as Peer Counseling, Earn While You Learn, Post abortion/pregnancy loss support, Adoption referrals, Community assistance referrals, Parenting lessons, Pre-natal classes, and Material assistance.

The Earn While You Learn program helps clients earn baby bucks to spend in the center’s in-house store. “When you attend classes it’s a Earn While You Learn program, you get baby bucks that you can spend in our store. We welcome you to come by and visit it, and check us out. We have diapers, wipes, car seats, cribs, and maternity clothes. We also have baskets for newborns, that we hand out. It’s a great program for you to Earn While You Learn and it had great success so far this year,” stated Lambert. Taking the parenting classes help individuals with pregnancy and what to expect.

The Earn While You Learn would not be possible without the help from community members both through material and monetary donations. “We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit program. We depend solely on donations from the community. We take not only money donations; we do take donations to help with our center, like I said car seats, cribs, diapers, wipes. We have strollers and things like that. When you do donate, we ask that it’s a gently used item and also that it’s still in warranty as far as car seats and things like that, that they don’t’ have a recall on them,” said Lambert. If you have items such as baby clothes, diapers, hygiene items, blankets or other basic items for a newborn baby please feel free to bring them to the center at 863 East 100 North in Price.

The Castle Country Pregnancy Resource Center is also currently looking for members of the community to become donors. “We’re looking for 100 new donors who are willing to commit $50.00 a month to help us with our expenses. In just this year alone from January through mid-November our new clients have seen increases over 50 percent over last year and the last several years. So we also have an increase in cost in our training classes, they went up again on us this year, as we all know everything is going up. So helping with those things, along with your physical donations, will really help us to keep serving our communities,” explained Lambert. The center serves both Carbon and Emery Counties.
