The Spartans wrestling team took to the mats at the Spartans Center for the first time this season, welcoming in the Delta Rabbits. Delta is always a tough opponent for not only the Spartans but for everyone in 3A wrestling, and they proved that once again on Tuesday night taking a 43-30 win.

Emery has a stacked wrestling schedule this season, in fact this is their second meet already after traveling to Manti last week.

Monty Christiansen got things going with a win by  pin in the 106 pound weight class. Christiansen, a junior, will be one to watch this season for the Spartans.

Other Spartans claiming victories against the Rabbits were Merrit Meccariello who claimed a win by forfeit, Hayden Christiansen claimed a win by pin. Bowden Christman, Dane Sitterud and Greg Suwyn also earned victories by pin in the meet.

Up next for the Spartans is a test in endurance as they travel to Millard for the Ironman tournament this weekend where over two days the wrestlers will compete in nine duels.
