Players from throughout Carbon and Emery counties were named to the All-State teams for volleyball as compiled by the Utah High School Activities Association and the Deseret News. Players from Carbon, Emery and Green River were given nods on the list that is based on coaches votes from a list of nominated players from each team.

Morgan’s Alyvia Jaffa, a junior middle blocker claimed 3A player of the year with 398 kills and 45 aces helping the Trojans earn the State Championship this season.

Emery’s Abby Morris earned a first team nod. The junior outside hitter had 298 kills to go with her .168 hitting percentage.  Morris helped the Spartans on their run through the 3A State Championships as Emery finished the regular season with a 17-14 overall record and a 6-2 Region 12 mark which landed them in second place.  Entering the playoffs with the No. 12 seed, the Spartans made it to the semifinal round where they lost to eventual champion Morgan, and ended up with a third place finish after defeating the No. 3 seed Ogden, 3-2.

For the Dinos, junior Madi Orth got a third team nod for her work as an outside hitter, and junior Dani Jensen also received recognition for her work from the outside hitter and libero positions. The Dinos ended the season 16-12 overall and 4-4 in region play. Entering the playoffs as the No. 8 seed and receiving a first round bye, the Dinos fell in round two to, Union 3-0.

In 1A it was Darleen Petersen on Rich, with over 400 kills, 35 solo blocks, 55 aces and 355 digs that was named most valuable player in the classification.

Green River’s Abby Erwin, a senior, received an honorable mention for her work as an outside hitter for the Pirates.  Green River finished the regular season 7-12 overall with a 5-3 mark in region play. The Pirates fell to Tabiona in the second round of the state playoffs. Erwin ended the season with 51 kills to go with her 11 aces, 29 total blocks, and 14 digs.
