The USU Eastern attendance is up this academic school year and there are also some events coming up in Feb. and March that the community is invited to attend on the campus. Director of Students, Kevin Hurst stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the details with listeners.

The university is happy to have students back in school and attendance has gone up this academic school year as Hurst is happy to report, “Couple of things we’re really excited about from the previous year is we saw a larger incoming Freshman class then we’ve seen in a long time.  With the COVID pandemic months and years and that experience we’re excited that we’re seeing students coming back to campus, and seen a growth in our incoming Freshman class, and we saw that for the Fall of 2022.” School officials are glad to have the students back in classes because they bring a different energy to the campus.

There are a few opportunities to come to campus to take a tour and see what programs are being offered at the university. “So a couple of events, if people wanted to come and experience campus, and tour campus, we have some on campus events for recruitment efforts. Those are our First Gen and Multi-cultural Day which is Feb. 3, that typically runs from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, you can RSVP on our website for that. We have later in that same month, so kind of save the date for Feb. 23, our Junior Preview Day. Its geared to help the Juniors in high school come and experience USU Eastern, and get a feel for campus, and see if it might be a good fit for them after they graduate. But its open to anybody that’s interested, so a couple of come visit campus events,” explained Hurst. Campus tours can also be arranged individually if you are unable to attend the above events.

The upcoming 41st Annual Eastern Utah Women’s Conference will be held on March 22 on the campus of USU Eastern. “Just kind of a save the date for our Eastern Utah Women’s Conference. So it’s on Mar. 22, its going to have a lot of great activities and events tied to that. There will be a service project, a lot of great classes, a lot of great activities, some keynote speakers, and breakout sessions, and a dinner. Its really to honor the women in our community, and really every thing they do for us. So it’s a great event and Amy Peters is going to provide more information about that, but she’s the point of contact and the chair for putting on this great event,” stated Hurst.
